I have always been passionate about birth and pregnancy and when I had my daughter, that passion was further ignited. I had my daughter during the peak of the pandemic— a pregnancy with many complications and a traumatic birth. Experiencing those complications first hand inspired me to aid in eliminating physiological and psychological barriers for other birthing people and their partners. In 2022, I signed up with the Stillbirthday organization to train as a bereavement and loss doula. I left that training feeling called to further my education in the pregnancy, birth and postpartum field. In the spring of 2023, I made the choice to become a labor doula with the CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) organization. I took part in their extensive hands on training program in the summer of 2023. Following that, I jumped at the opportunity to train with CAPPA again to recieve my Postpartum doula training and am proud to add postpartum work to my always expanding practice.
I am a mom to a 4 year old girl and we reside in the beautiful area of Edmonton, Alberta. I enjoy horseback riding, volunteering at a local equine therapy ranch, visiting local coffee shops, and singing with my daughter. If I am not at a birth or supporting a family postpartum, you can likely find me taking additional courses and training on pregnancy, birth and maternal medicine.
I have extensive training in birth trauma, substance use and perinatal mental health. I have also recieved my certification in Reconciliation Studies from the First Nations University of Canada.
